Presented at ASMS 2024 in Anaheim, CA

Using the mass spectra of various molecules, including antibodies and nucleosomes, I created artistic representations that break away from traditional data visualization.

By using projection mapping technology, the art pieces come alive, illustrating the dynamic and ‘living’ nature of molecules.

Augmented reality sculptures designed with the mass spectra of insulin and other molecules are presented on two iPads, which, like mass spec, make the invisible visible.

The playful and sculptural nature of the augmented reality elements aim to convey the sense of wonder that I feel during a real-time mass spec experiment in which I am manipulating the molecules in space, almost like a video game.
